Yellowstone Park with Doug's Parents

Yesterday, Bob and Jean arrived in town and watched the Yellowstone IMAX Movie.

Today, we showed them around Yellowstone.

Norris Geyser Basin is the home of this beautiful blue pool.

A non-painted buffalo grazed near the road.

It was a very windy day at Lower Falls.
A bird has made its nest atop these rocks in the middle of the canyon.
Here's an eerie-looking hole in the volcanic landscape of Yellowstone.

Sulphur Cauldron smells like...sulphur.
Yellowstone Lake is the largest lake at this altitude in the world.
The Kepler Cascades roar along.
The crowd gathers for the next showing of Old Faithful.
These elk wonder: What's Old Faithful?
The HHR makes a great tourmobile.

Midnight at Old Faithful

Ever wonder if Old Faithful erupts in the dark of night? We wondered and we went to see.

It was pretty chilly at midnight.

Marlon couldn't quite make out Old Faithful's eruption.

When driving in Yellowstone, always be aware at Buffalo Crossings.

We happened upon this elk grazing by moonlight.

He acted like Marlon was just another elk and kept on eating.

4th of July Parade & Fireworks, West Yellowstone, Montana

4th of July brings a parade and fireworks even to the small town of West Yellowstone, Montana.

Enjoy the pictures!

Delfino and Candice enjoy the parade.

Wildlife was sighted, as well as one of the snowcoaches used for Yellowstone tours in the dead of winter.

The IMAX Theatre offers movie and carriage ride combo tickets during the height of the summer season.

Locals showed off some of their collectible automobiles in this year's parade.

Here's a unique parade float.

We even saw a scooter-riding clown.

Motorcyclists showed their bikes...

all kinds of them...

The town's Painted Buffaloes will be auctioned off on August 29, as the two-year long Buffalo Roam ends.

The IMAX Theatre Gift Shop had a demonstration of Ne' Qwa Art. In Ne' Qwa, glass ornaments are painted from the inside of the glass.

Don't forget the fireworks!

Yellowstone Park with Carol, Lee & Jerry Part 2

Today we took Carol, Lee & Jerry to see parts of Yellowstone they had not yet seen.

The eagle was in its nest.

This time of year the traffic jams are not comprised of buffalo.

Carol and Lee look forward to a walk around Norris Geyser Basin.

Carol and Lee look forward to being finished with their walk around Norris Geyser Basin.

Small geyser at Norris erupts.

A confused buffalo attempts to determine if this is its offspring.

Carol enjoys the view of Lower Falls.

A small hike puts us in view of Tower Falls.

Just north of Tower Falls, we spot a family of big-horned sheep descending the mountainside.

Next we see the first of three bears. This one was eating grass along the side of the road.

Until some stupid human purposely scared him and he decided to cross the road.

Bear number two...

This deer had a tree growing out of its head.

Mammoth Hot Springs...

Bear number three was brown.

Another elk was spotted on our way towards Madison Junction and the park exit.

Watch our video of today below.

Back at our campsite, demonic felines greeted us.
