Shopping in Idaho Falls

Today we finally ventured out of West Yellowstone to the bustling metropolis of Idaho Falls, Idaho for our first big grocery trip.

Idaho Falls, like many other cities in America, now has a vacant Circuit City building.

What? That's all the groceries? NOT!

Eating Vegan

This evening Chef Sharon, Jordan and Lauren treated us to a specially-prepared vegan dinner.

June Snowfall in West Yellowstone

Having lived in Colorado for 13 years, we have seen snow fall in Estes Park in July, but it is still neat to see it fall anytime from June on.

Here is the view out our front window of the brief snowfall we had today here in West Yellowstone.

Buffalo Roam of West Yellowstone

Today was the last day all of West Yellowstone's Buffalo Roam's Painted Buffaloes were all displayed in one place. Tomorrow they get dispersed throughout town.

Then on August 29th, they will each be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Take a look at a few of the Painted Buffaloes.


Camping from the 1800's to the 2000's is illustrated on this buffalo.

Wolves are just one form of wildlife featured on the buffaloes.

Journey to Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance

Today we headed toward Cooke City, Montana...a VERY small town outside the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

On our way from the west entrance, snow still lined the Park's roads.

Mountainsides still had plenty of snow on them.

Tower Falls plunged to the floor of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Whitewater rafting anyone?

We spotted a family eating lunch while driving up Dunraven Pass.

We took a look up the creek. Or was it a river?

These a just a few of the MANY buffalo we spotted in Lamar Valley.

Before exiting the Park's northeast entrance, we entered Wyoming and the Shoshone National Forest.

On the way to Cooke City expect some delays due to road construction. We also suggest avoiding this area during rain.

On the way back into the park, we passed very close by this moose.

Back in West Yellowstone, we decided to try out some Beartooth Barbecue. Um..Um..Good.
